May 17-18:  Steve Smith’s Natural Horsemanship for Eventing Clinic. Of Cornerstone Training Center’s John Lyons background, Steve will enhance the behavior and balance of your event horse. He has been truly helpful here backing young horses for a great first experience, teaching loading, bomb proofing trail and hunt horses, enhancing body control and getting our horses more balanced up.  Steve has lots of good techniques for behavior questions you may have with your event horse about the start box, leaving a group, bucking, runaways, spooky objects, refusals, startling at spectators, and other pesky issues.
The two-day clinic is $225 (stabling is additional $25/night).  Steve is also available for one-on-one consultations.  Steve’s website:  www.cornerstonehorsetraining.com

June 7-8:  Don Sachey Clinic. From Santa Barbara, CA, Don helped create the USEA’s Instructor Certification Program, pulling together his impressive experiences as a gold medalist, US Pony Club “A” Prep Clinician, USET Selection Committee Member, national coach of the Japanese Equestrian Federation, and a lifetime with event horses.  It’s not just a privilege for competitors to ride under his instruction, but also a valuable learning experience if you are a trainer, coach, pony clubber, or dedicated horse parent!  The two-day clinic is $235 (stabling is additional $25/night).  Don is also available for private sessions on a limited basis Friday, June 6.  Learn more.

Wednesday, June 11 – Thursday, June 12:  Lucinda Green: Cross-Country Jumping the Safe Way:  From Andover, England, Lucinda is my only friend who is in Wikipedia. Her amazing accomplishments in Eventing, such as winning Badminton six times, (a record) speak for themselves.  Her clinics are also amazing because she uses unique methods to transfer her seemingly fearless jumping style to one and all in a comprehensible manner, and is it fun!  Airfare and the British Pound Sterling make this clinic a little more expensive but your experience, as the saying goes, will be priceless.  The two-day clinic is $350; stabling is $25/night. Learn more about Lucinda at Wikipedia.

June 20-22:  Mary D’Arcy USEA Clinic: Preparing for a CIC and CCI, a Junior/Young Rider Clinic Sponsored by North Texas Eventing Association.  Mary hails from Dublin, Ireland and fortunately her home base is here in Texas.  This very popular clinic concentrates on preparing young riders for their first FEI experience, a standard of excellence we all can benefit from.  Your individual dressage test will be critiqued on Friday afternoon; Saturday will involve flatwork, stadium jumping, and an NTEA luncheon with informative presentations. On Sunday, cross-country will concentrate on pace and the classical phases including steeplechase.  Thanks to the generosity of NTEA, this clinic is open first to our juniors and NTEA members for  $275; non-member price is $310 (so it’s cheaper to become a member!)  Stabling is $25/night. Learn more.

June 28-29:  John Williams Clinic:  From Southern Pines, NC, John has won the 2007 USEA Course Designer of the Year Award for his erudite (that means good-ridin’) courses.  We are pleased that he designs here at Greenwood.  John is also a World Equestrian Games gold medalist and insightful trainer.  It’s a rare opportunity to have a clinic with him, and those who were able to ride with him last year are glad he’s returning.  Two days are $235, and private lessons can be arranged.  Stabling is $25/night.
